Capt. Daryl Brower and gang aboard the Contango released 69 sails in 2 days to take 2nd place in the Isla Mujeres Island Time Fishing Festival!
On behalf of the Island Time Fishing Festival and Help A Special Child, we would like to thank you all very much for your participation and donation in the 2012 Island Time Fishing Festival.
The tournament was once again a great success.
A total of 581 sailfish were caught with a 1004 bites, this was world class action.
The winning boat in the sailfish category was Blue Moon with a total of 85 releases, 2nd was Contango with 69 releases and 3rd was Broken Tackle with 65 releases
Top Angler was Alex Peebles on the Blue Moon with 29 releases, 2nd Tommy Farella on the Blue Moon with 28 releases and 3rd was Justin on Broken Tackle with 27 releases.
A total of 22 fish were caught in the Heaviest Fish category this consisted of 10 Dorado, 6 Tuna, 5 Wahoo and 1 Mackerel.
The winning boat with the largest Wahoo was Country Girl with a 26lb fish, Zubie with the largest Tuna 19.61lbs, Broken Tackle with the largest Mackerel 10.44lbs and Obsession with the largest Dorado 50.23lbs
Tanner Cline once again won the Junior Angler Trophy for the 3rd year with 16 releases.
The gross income for the festival is around $80,000USD with some money still not collected.
