Contango fished the Wilmington Canyon, Saturday July 23rd, 2011. Conditions were sporty in the morning, but we ended up with three white marlin for the day. The real highlight though was having Brady Lybarger onboard along with his “dredge cam”. He got this awesome underwater footage of yellowfin tuna and white marlin chasing the dredge and even jumped in for one of our white releases.
Fished the 1000 fathom of the Poorman’s canyon, after catching 2 nice yellowfin on the 30 line, we managed to catch a quad of white marlin. All fish put on a nice display.

MA500 Wrap Up and Photos

Another MA500 in the books, and it was an awesome week. We started out good with 5 White Marlin Releases fishing in the Tom’s Canyon on Monday. Tuesday brought a 55 yellowfin and several mahi, fishing in the Lindy. Thursday we moved down to the Washington, only to miss a small Blue Marlin. Very nice water in the Tom’s on Monday. Plenty of bait, look at the one image of the fish finder, the image covers the screen !!

WMO wrap up

Contango ended up catching 5 white marlin during the WMO. My thanks to Randy Ramsey of Jarrett Bay, Joey Johnson – Capt, and Jimmy Grant – Mate. What a great week !! and good fisherman. All clients had a nice time. We are heading to Cape May, fishing the MA500.
WMO Report (Day 1 & 2)

Fished Monday and Tuesday, released 2 white marlin on Tuesday. Lay day for Weds. 93.5 will be hard to beat, may be time to go Blue Marlin fishing !!
We have plenty of dates open in late August and September. Some of the best fishing occurs in this timeframe. We will be fishing out of Sunset Marina in Ocean City, MD. Give us a call !

Boat will be fishing the WMO out of Sunset Marina this year with the Jarrett Bay crew taking control. Capt. Joey Johnson will be running the Contango all week with a few key customers fishing the boat.
Fished the Stone Harbor Yacht Club Marlin Tourney, caught 1 out of 2 white marlin on Saturday.
White Marlin Open

We will be fishing the WMO out of Sunset Marina in August. Fishing starting to pick up with several Blue Marlin seen by several boats in the MD Canyons. Hopefully the Yellowfin (Larger) fish will move in !!
Fished Monday and Tuesday, on Monday saw one blue marlin. Day 2 the crew released approx a 200lb Blue Marlin, on the board finally. Nice lure bite.
